About this vulnerability

When curl is built with GnuTLS, a malicious WebSocket server can make curl send memory past its send buffer. This is due to an out of bounds read following when `gnutls_record_send()` returns a number of bytes sent **greater than the number of bytes it was given to send**. GnuTLS does that after a blocked send.

Summary: CVE record, as of .

  • The CVE record was published on 20 Oct 2026.
  • FIRST's EPSS model puts the probability of exploitation in the next 30 days at 0.3% (percentile 21.8), as of 29 Oct 2026. EPSS is a statistical estimate, not a report of exploitation.
